Fagua Earrings

Vattea was born in Medellin, Colombia, from two sisters Laura and Ana Maria Maya Silva who decided to combine their expertise in jewelry production and industrial design to create their own jewelry brand in 2016. They are inspired by several ancestral cultures and their representation through objects and symbols.

Vattea’s base material is bronze which receives a polish to give a rustic effect and is armored in 24 carat gold. Cotton yarn material is also used that goes through a hand sewing process to finally be starched with other natural starches. The results are flawless pieces with great hand-made value.

Each process is developed by someone in their local community from household mothers to people with mild disabilities, and ex-inmate women.
